THE MOLLY & RAHIIM INTIATIVE

The goal of Gifted Origins is to continue to collaborate with other business and organizations to further our efforts with our Molly and Rahiim initiative program. The Molly and Rahiim Initiative program was developed to help raise awareness to individuals who suffer from Mental Illness. The reason why this program has been developed is because both Jamal "Molly" Hardy and Rahiim Etheridge suffered from mental illness and decided to make decisions that would claim their lives. Both Molly and Rahiim were fathers of multiple children who loved them but where left with many unanswered questions. The aftermath and destruction to these two families became motivation for the board members at Gifted Origins to take action by raising awareness to anything that pertains to mental illness. So a new purpose was born to help get members in all communities to realize how important mental health is today. The death rate in suicide has surpassed the rate in homicide and is now our a much bigger problem in society.

Gifted Origins has decided to partner with The Rock Comedy Show to use laughter as a tool to help individuals heal and overcome a stressful state of mind. Gifted Origins assist The Rock Comedy Show with marketing to invite people to the comedy show and in return at the beginning of every show we are allowed to share our mission to help combat mental illness. While spreading our message at the beginning of each comedy event we are able to take a collection from those in attendance to raise funds to assist those in need of mental assessment from a licensed professional. Also, at each event we have the opportunity to pass out surveys to those in attendance who can fill it out and let us know if they themselves or someone they know could benefit from seeing a licensed therapist. All surveys are collected and passed along to our approved partners of Gifted Origins who are licensed therapist. Our licensed therapist who has partnered with Gifted Origins on this mission are Khavah Murray, Arnisha Keyes and Jessica Gurley who all have their own office and practice. 

Since December of 2022, Gifted Origins has assisted The Rock Comedy Show with 5 different comedy events which has totaled with more than 600 people who have attended that our mission was shared with, over 60 surveys completed and $400 raised to help assist those who can't afford mental therapy. Our goal is to continue partnering with The Rock Comedy Show to spread the word of our Molly and Rahiim Initiative program, continue partnering with licensed therapist who can provide services to those we send to them from our efforts at each comedy event. Once per quarter we host a workshop and a fundraiser event that will assist with overcoming mental hurdles using different methods and report the progress of our efforts throughout the year. Our objective is to raise over $5,000 dollars in the year 2023 to assist those in need of mental therapy, to campaign for mental health awareness and reach over 7,000 people with our Molly and Rahiim Initiative and be the bridge that gives people comfort in receiving mental help when they need it by our partnered licensed therapist.
